President Thomas S. Monson so beautifully reminds us that "A grateful heart, then, comes through expressing gratitude to our Heavenly Father for His blessings."
Which is actually one of the reason why I love Thanksgiving so much. It gives us all a gentle push to express vocally all that we are thankful for--both the seemingly small, daily things, as well as those larger, important things that define who we are.
