Darryl Harris


Darryl Harris is the author of eight historical novels—The Reformation of Lady Elinor, Hearts of the Fathers, Abby’s Crossing, and the Light & Truth series (The Field Is White, The Gathering, The Nauvoo Years, The Mormon Battalion, and The Journey Home). Darryl spent his childhood in southeast Idaho, served a mission to South Korea, and graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in communications, with an emphasis in advertising and public relations.

In 1972, Darryl founded Harris Publishing, Inc., which today publishes several national magazines, including SnoWest, Houseboat, Pontoon & Deck Boat, Great Lakes Boating, Dirt Toys, Diesel Tech, Potato Grower, The Sugar Producer, and Idaho Falls Magazine. The firm also owns Falls Printing.

Darryl is married to the former Christine Sorensen. They have five children and nineteen grandchildren. Darryl and Christine presided over the Korea Seoul Mission from 1997 to 2000. Currently, the couple makes their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
