Marilyn Brown’s
April 2018 release Road to Covered Bridge won
the Utah State Fine Arts novel competition. Marilyn has also received the AML
novel award, the Mayhew prize, and first place in both poetry and short story from
the League of Utah Writers. Marilyn’s historical novel Fires of Jerusalem was a 2011 Whitney Award finalist, and in
2017, Marilyn received the Whitneys’ Outstanding Achievement Award. She also
won several Publisher’s Choice awards, was honored with the Smith-Petit
Citation, and, with her husband Bill, received the SCERA Foundation’s 2018
“Star” Award for Lifetime Achievement in the arts. Marilyn and Bill, both
oil-painting artists, reside in Springville, Utah. They enjoy six children,
sixteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
