Learning to Trust in the Lord Book Group

We LOVE it when people use our books for a book group, but we especially LOVE seeing photos of when it happens.

Photo is from a book group for Learning to Trust in the Lord by Michelle Martin that was held in Sandy on the 27 January. Michelle is on the back row, third from the right, the one not holding a copy of her book. :)

Quote of the Day

The man of faith touches divinity, the source of power, the force of forces, and becomes as it were a transmitter, or conductor, of the boundless influence of God. As the electric current travels along copper wire, so does divine power reach man through faith.

~John A. Widtsoe

It's coming...

I can feel it. Spring is just around the corner and isn't that a glorious thought?

It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! ~Mark Twain

BBC Book List

I don't know if this list really comes from the BBC. I don't think the BBC would put both a series and then an individual title on the same list. Plus my internet search didn't pull up any BBC story. That being said it still is fun to see how many I have actually read.

Apparently the BBC reckons most people will have only read 6 of the 100 books here.

Here is what you do:
1) Copy the list.
2) Bold those you have read.
3) Italicize those you intend to read.
4) Add color to the books you love.

Quote of the Day

When it’s within our POWER to give love, we should NEVER WITH HOLD IT. If WE FEEL compassion or empathy without doing something, we may DIMINISH our power to act, to respond.

Mary Elen Edmunds

Thought of the Day

Sometime in the eternities to come, we will see that our trials were calculated to cause us to turn to our Heavenly Father for strength and support.

Delbert L. Stapley

February Giveaway

Exciting news! February is the start of our monthly giveaway.
In honor of Valentine's Day, we will be giving away 3 copies of Love: The Greatest Gift of All.

This beautiful book of quotes from past prophets and general authorities, is the perfect reminder book. “Let us see the virtues of our neighbors and our friends, and speak of those virtues, not find fault and criticize,” counseled President George Albert Smith. “If we will do that we will radiate sunshine, and those who know us best will love us.” Love begets love. Our Heavenly Father first loved us, and He sent His Son to save us. In turn, the Savior showed infinite love for us through His Atonement. We can recognize and feel that love every day. It is our privilege to then share that love with others. In doing so, we will find that love comes more easily when we seek out virtues instead of faults. By building a greater capacity to love, we can fill our lives with greater joy. President Hugh B. Brown taught, “Love of God and love of fellow men are indispensable to lasting happiness.”
